Westboro Baptist Church Plans to Picket Cory Monteith’s Funeral


Westboro Baptist Church is continuing its shameful ways.

The controversial group announced it plans to picket the funeral of Glee star Cory Monteith, who died tragically over the weekend.

Westboro Baptist released a series of offensive (though not at all surprising for them) tweets about Cory’s death, even going so far as to praise God:

A bit of good news: if Cory’s funeral takes place in Canada, Westboro may be banned from attending. The Canadian Border Patrol prevented them from picketing the funeral of a 22-year-old murder victim in 2008, The Huffington Post reports.

Enough is enough with these people.

Luckily, one former Westboro Baptist Church member is trying to raise funds to help other young people leave the church. The money will go to “housing, living essentials, educational needs [and] travel to reconnect with lost family.” Maybe if young people realize they can survive after leaving, the group will get smaller and smaller.
