‘It’s Finally Ironic’ Wonderfully Updates Alanis Morrisette’s Song (VIDEO)
The real irony of Alanis Morrisette’s “Ironic” is that none of her examples of irony are actually ironic. I’m not going to make a joke about this because it’s been done too many times already.
The point is, the “ironic” situations the song presents are either coincidental or simply unfortunate, a fact that’s been bothering people for years. So Eliza and Rachael Hurwitz decided to fix the song’s lyrics so they are, in fact, ironic.
For example: “It’s like rain on your wedding day / A day and place you chose because it’s known not to rain.”
Ahh … much better. Plus, the video is a funny take on the original song’s music video. Enjoy:
