Angelina Jolie Makes First Red Carpet Appearance After Double Mastectomy (VIDEO)

Angelina Jolie glowed this weekend at the World War Z premiere, her first red carpet appearance since her announcement that she had a preventive double mastectomy.

Donning an elegant black Yves Saint Laurent gown, Angelina told reporters she’s “moved” just talking about the support of her family during the difficult time.

Angelina says that husband Brad Pitt has been “extraordinary,” adding, “He’s such a wonderful man and a wonderful father. I’m very lucky.”

She also says she’s been glad to see the media conversation she’s inspired: “I’ve been very happy just to see the discussion about women’s health expanded, and that means the world to me, and after losing my mom to these issues, I’m very grateful for it, and I’ve been very moved by the kind support from people,” she says.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brad also talked to press about Angelina’s surgery. When a reporter remarked that she looked great, he responded, ”I so agree with you.”

Brad continued: “I was so proud before … she is always facing the problems and taking it head-on and makes it her own and finds out what her options are and makes the smart decision for her and then shares that knowledge with whomever will listen.”

He also said of his wife, “I always want her by my side. We got work to do, it’s just more fun if she’s around.”

Angelina and Brad also brought their sons Maddox, 11, and Pax, 9, to the premiere. The zombie movie (yes, that’s what the Z stands for) opens June 21.
