Grill Masters: 5 Celebs Rocking Grills as Mouth Bling

Madonna is the latest celeb to sport a somewhat bizarre trend: the grill. Leaving Hard Candy fitness center earlier this month, the 55-year-old pop queen showed off a shiny grill on her teeth.

USA Today calls her blinged-out grin a “Joker smile,” and I have to agree. What’s with this grill trend? As awkward teens and pre-teens, didn’t we all eagerly anticipate the day we could finally get the metal OFF of our teeth?

Crazy fact: humans have actually been bedazzling their teeth for 2,500 years. One National Geographic study found that Native Americans dressed up their mouths with notches, grooves and semiprecious gems.

It looks like this ancient fashion trend won’t be going away. Here are other celebs we’ve spotted rocking the mouth bling:

Also making headlines for a new pixie cut (and later, a bob), Beyonce posted a photo of her vampire-like grill to her Tumblr.

Earlier this month, Rihanna posted an Instagram photo of her new gold gun-shaped grill with the caption “She + AK.” In other grill photo, she wrote, “Up watching Cocaine Cowboyz #KillinDeseHeauxz #lickthegunwhenimdonecuziknowthatrevengeissweet.” We’ll have to take her word for it.

Miley Cyrus

It’s no shock that Miley’s also jumped on the grill bandwagon. In an interview with Hello Style, the 20-year-old revealed she actually has multiple grills, including a silver one for her bottom teeth and a plain gold one for when she wants to be chill (her “chill grill”). Umm, maybe just don’t wear a grill when you want to be chill?

Justin Bieber

This summer, grills aren’t just for the ladies. The Biebs has also dressed up his mouth with some sweet, sweet gold. Perez Hilton calls Justin’s grill “gnarly” — while I’m just amused that his grill is the most glittery, girly one of them all.

Which celebrity grill is your favorite — or are you trying to brush away these images from your mind?
