Study Says Wednesday Is the Best Day To Drink Wine

Wino Wednesdays. Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

According to a new study, Wednesday is the most popular day to drink wine. Specifically, Wednesdays around 7 p.m.

Men usually pop the cork around 6:40 p.m., while women typically start about half an hour later. Also, most winos are homebodies; around 76 percent of survey participants said they’d rather drink wine at home than head out to a bar.

Wine on Wednesday is considered a “midweek treat,” while people tend to stay sober on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you’ve ever been hungover at work on a Tuesday, you can understand the thinking here. You know you’re getting old when two glasses of wine results in a headache the next day! Curse you, time.

There’s just one thing I don’t get: what’s wrong with Thursday and Friday? Aren’t those days also perfect for popping some Pinot? Or perhaps some cola-flavored wine? (Seriously, that’s a thing.)

Meanwhile, a different study found that wine contains 23 different molecules that are considered healthy for humans, so I say drink up — no matter what day it is!

Do you celebrate wine-down Wednesdays?
