Robin Roberts Gives Inspirational ESPY Acceptance Speech (VIDEO)

Robin Roberts was diagnosed with cancer in 2007, but she’s still going strong.

At the 2013 ESPY Awards, she accepted the Arthur Ashe award for “strength in the face of adversity, courage in the face of peril, and the willingness to stand up for [her] beliefs no matter what the cost.”

Five years ago, Robin found out she had breast cancer. Then in 2012, she was also diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called myelodysplastic syndrome. She received a bone marrow transplant but returned to Good Morning America earlier this year.

Wearing a stunning red gown, Robin accepted the award with an inspiring speech about fear, faith and courage. Check it out:

“There are many worthy of holding this honor, others who have exhibited far more courage, strength and resilience, and it’s humbling for me to represent you tonight,” she said.

“I draw strength from you,” Robin continued. “You give me the courage to face down any challenge, to know when fear knocks, to let faith answer the door.”

She also tweeted about the event:

Congrats, Robin! You’re an inspiration to all of us.
