There Will Be No Porn On Google Glass

In possibly the least surprising news ever, last week it came to light that there were folks hard at work creating porn apps for Google Glass. On Monday, Glass’s very first porn app, called “Tits and Glass,” hit the web.

Only 17 Google Glass users managed to download it before it shut down. Despite the fact that it’s obviously what the people want, Google has banned sexually explicit content on Glass to keep it from becoming a vessel for porn. While there are certainly some good arguments for keeping porn off Glass, Google seems to underestimate people’s desire to watch other people doin’ it.

Tits and Glass, created by porn app store MiKandi, was apparently a user-generated photo gallery of sexy snaps taken with Glass’s built-in camera. Which, considering pretty much the only people who even have Glass right now are old white dudes, probably would’ve been pretty boring. MiKandi says it’s altered the app so it adheres to Glass’s new developer policies, though it’s not clear how they’ve pulled that off. According to its (NSFW) blog, MiKandi is still waiting to hear back from Google about whether the new and improved (?) Tits and Glass is a go.

What Google doesn’t seem to realize is we’re humans with normal human urges and we will not rest until we’ve given every piece of technology some porn-related function. This is a generation that, back in the days of dial-up Internet and dismal connection speeds, was willing to wait hours just to download a few grainy, low-res images of boobs. You think there’s a way to stop people from using Glass to stealthily watch porn on a tiny screen? Think again.
