Israel’s Education Minister Is Just as Immature as Us (VIDEO)
There are some things in this world even the most mature of us can’t help but break into a childish giggling fit over. Those things usually revolve in some way around the weird and hilarious human body: farts, butts, sex — you know. We’re gross. There’s nothing we can do about it.
Unfortunately for those of us who want to maintain the illusion that we’re intelligent grownups, our tendency to lose our cool when confronted by words like “penetration” often happens at the most inopportune times. Like, for example, when we’re in the middle of delivering a speech to parliament.
Israel’s education minister, Shai Piron, recently found himself in exactly this amusing predicament. When a colleague unexpectedly had to leave, Piron was called upon to read a speech about contraband cell phones being smuggled into prisons in his absence. Because of the last minute change, he wasn’t familiar with the speech’s phrasing.
“Mr. Chairman, distinguished Parliament, the aim of this legislation is to deal with a serious phenomenon — the penetration of prohibited objects into prisons,” he told parliament, before breaking down laughing. It seems the “penetration” was too much for him to handle.
He was able to compose himself for a minute, but soon found himself consumed by unstoppable laughter. Luckily for him, other members of parliament saw the humor in the situation and began laughing with him.
You can watch a video of the whole affair below. The fact that it’s not in English doesn’t matter — you can tell exactly what’s going down.
