Why Is This CNN Anchor Shaming Amanda Knox About Her Sexual History? (VIDEO)
Amanda Knox is back in the public eye after an extremely uncomfortable interview with CNN anchor Chris Cuomo.
Knox, who was acquitted on charges of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher after serving four years of her 26-year sentence, was blasted with questions about her so-called sexual deviance.
“Knox is into some freaky sexual things,” exclaimed Cuomo during the interview.
“She tried to pull in Meredith, who was a staid, buttoned-up Brit, she wasn’t into it, and it went wrong,” added Cuomo who was repeating the media’s tirade on Knox’s so-called kinky inclinations.
Knox has been called many things during her trial in Italy: Foxy Knoxy, concertante of sex, sphinx of Perugia. Now she’s responding to rumors about orgies, leather whips and freaky sex.
“I was there in the courtroom when they were calling me things like ‘violent,’ ‘whore,’ and ‘deviant.’ And it’s all untrue,” said Knox.
Cuomo continued to use his shame tactics – ahem – reporting skills to find out why these rumors exist in the first place.
“They didn’t get it from me, and they didn’t get it from witnesses,” said Knox. “It literally came from the prosecution. And this is what I’ve been up against this entire time.”
“This fact that the prosecution was projecting onto what happened their own theories about young women and women who are … I was sexually active. I was not sexually deviant.”
I understand the media is trying to make sense of Kercher’s death. They’ve created an image of Knox as a freaky-deaky sex fiend who killed her roommate for not participating in her allegedly deviant activities.
But man, this interview is downright insulting. One Gawker commenter said it best:
What a shoddy piece of reporting by Cuomo. Take a look at the interview below and see if you can watch it without squirming.
