Something borrowed, something … black?

90210 star Shenae Grimes bucked tradition when she wore a black wedding gown to marry model/musician Josh Beech today.

“I now pronounce us Mr. and Mrs. Beech! Ahhh! Xx,” she tweeted along with a photo of the dark dress, which appeared to feature a halter top and romantic A-line skirt with various shades of grey.

The 23-year-old wore her dark hair swept back in a low, unruly bun — and skipped the veil.

The ceremony took place outside a countryside tudor manor, where Shenae walked down the aisle to a soundtrack of house music.

Shenae and Josh, 26, have been dating a little over a year; they got engaged this past December.

“It’ll be small — close friends and family,” Josh said of the wedding back in March.

Shenae isn’t the only celeb to choose a non-white wedding gown: Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon opted for a pale green gown when she tied the knot last year.

Still, black is more dramatic than most wedding dress colors. Vera Wang may be to credit (or blame) for the dark trend; she introduced a number of black bridal gowns in 2011.

“There has been a growing interest in black wedding dresses,” says Tova Marc, head designer for Wedding Dress Fantasy, which specializes in non-traditional colors. “They are tired of the same old white and ivory.”
