New Zealand has just released an updated list of all the baby names its Births, Death and Marriages department has deemed unacceptable. If you were planning on moving to New Zealand, having a baby and naming it Anal, you’re out of luck.

In New Zealand, all parents-to-be are required to have their offspring’s name vetted by the government (henceforth to be known as the Fun Police) – and if the Fun Police don’t like it, the parents don’t get to use the name.

Names that imply the child has an official title (like King or Princess), or that are too long, too offensive or just too stupid tend not to make the cut.

Because of the Fun Police’s meddling, baby Anal, along with baby Mafia No Fear never came to be. The New Zealand government also deprived the world of baby 4Real, baby Lucifer (six baby Lucifers, actually), baby Juztice and baby Majesti. Even baby * (asterisk) was vetoed.

Super lame, New Zealand. Whatever happened to giving dumb people the freedom to shackle their kids with a humiliating moniker that will haunt them forever? Over on this side of the pond, we’re all about that shiz.

Anyway, here’s the full list of banned names in New Zealand, along with the number of times each one has been shut down in the past 12 years. Is your name on there? That depends on whether or not your name is Queen Victoria.
