Avirl Lavigne and Chad Kroeger won’t be singing at their wedding.

Yes, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Well, you’ve gotta admit, it would’ve been entertaining in a “don’t want to watch but can’t look away” sort of way. But alas, Lavigne says she doesn’t want the pressure of singing on her big day.

“I don’t want to feel like I’m working at [it], because I’ll be like thinking about how I – Okay, I’ve got to sing, so I’ve got to perform,” Lavigne tells People magazine.

“I think that we’ll just kind of play a song that’s maybe a song we wrote together as our first dance song, I don’t know.”

I don’t know what’s worse: sitting through a tacky serenade from Canada’s punk-princess to the Nickleback dude, or listening to a duet by said couple.

It’s like choosing between being incinerated on the surface of the sun or freezing to death on an Alaskan tundra. Both are equally unpleasant.

I kid, I kid. Although their music isn’t what you’d call masterful, it seems like Canada’s weirdest couple is happy together and pumped about planning their wedding.

“I think he’s happy with the direction it’s going in,” says Lavigne about her husband-to-be. “I’m glad he’s okay with my style because it’s a little out there, and he’s like, ‘Yeah, do it, do your thing, whatever.’ He’s stoked. We’re excited.”
