Harry Styles Hit in the Nuts by a Flying Shoe

What is it about seeing a dude get hit in the balls that’s so damn funny? I mean, objectively, it’s not funny at all. A person is in pain! We shouldn’t be laughing at that. No, sir. That’s bad stuff, that is.

But for reasons unbeknownst to me, the sight of a guy getting hit in the nuts causes an uncontrollable reaction in most people — something deep in the dark, reptilian part of the brain lights up, as if to say, “Yeah, that’s cool. More of that, please.”

You can’t deny that it’s true. Entire TV shows (I’m looking at you, America’s Funniest Home Videos) have been created based solely on the premise that people want to watch dudes get sacked.

But for the purposes of this article, I’m going to need you to ignore that part of yourself and be an adult for a few minutes, OK? This is serious stuff we’re about to delve into. Get your giggles out now.

Ready? Alright. So, at a One Direction concert in Scotland this week, entertainer/sentient head of hair Harry Styles was struck square in the nuts by a flying shoe.

The band was doing a question and answer session with fans during a show in Glasgow when a shoe, thrown by an audience member, landed onstage. Looking a bit confused, Styles held it up, proclaiming, “It’s a shoe.”

Suddenly, a second shoe appeared out of nowhere and flew directly into Styles’ crotch.

I’m going to show you a GIF of it, but you have to promise not to laugh, okay?

No, I said don’t laugh. You guys, it’s not funny!

Luckily, Styles took it in stride, doing some silly onstage lunges and walking it off after regaining his composure. This wasn’t his first rodeo, after all — Styles was sacked by a flying shoe at a gig last April, as well.

The culprit, whose identity remains unknown, is still at large.
