Chris Brown Is the Latest Celebrity Swatting Victim
There’s a new “joke” in Hollywood, and it isn’t Chris Brown — although it does involve him. It’s a prank called “swatting,” and Brown is the latest celebrity victim.
The concept of swatting is simple: Pranksters call the police and falsely report a violent crime occurring at a celebrity’s home. The cops (or SWAT team) barge in and find that no such crime is happening. The point is to embarrass or frighten the victim.
The R&B singer is now part of a long list of celebrities — including Miley Cyrus and Bruce and Kris Jenner — who have been swatted.
In Brown’s case, the pranksters reported a fake domestic violence incident.
*cough* Hitting too close to home…*cough*
Unfortunately for the pranksters, Brown wasn’t at home when the police showed up. Cops searched the place and found no evidence of any wrongdoing. If he had been home, it might have reminded him of when cops stormed his place in 2009 after he assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
