An adorable boy from Philadelphia took his love of kittens to another level. Evan, a 10-year-old boy and unabashed kitten lover, wrote this heartwarming letter to an animal shelter when he was 7 years old. City Kitties is the animal shelter where his family adopted their first cat, Macha.

Here’s his letter:

Dear City Kitties,

My name is Evan. I am 7 years old. And guess what? … I LOVE cats! They are my favorite animals and I got my cat at City Kitties as well! THANK YOU for letting me get my new cat! Thank you, City Kitties.

P.S. I get an allowance every week and I chose to make a donation to you. I love that you help cats find homes. I saved this money to help you help cats.

And since 2009, Evan has been donating his allowance to City Kitties. In his first year of donating, Evan saved up $46.75 for animal shelter. The following year, he upped his donation to $97, and in 2012, he donated $110. Each year, he’s also sent a handwritten letter to the shelter.

Way to go, Evan!
