Kate Middleton Finally Leaves the Hospital, Prank Call Hasn’t Hampered Her Recovery
Good news for the royal couple: Pregnant Kate Middleton has finally left the hospital after a four-day stay.
The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital earlier this week for hyperemesis gravidarum, a form of morning sickness that can lead to dehydration and malnutrition. During her stay, she was visited by her husband Prince William, her mother Carole and her siblings James and Pippa Middleton.
Kate left the hospital on Thursday, carrying a bouquet of yellow flowers.
This must be a relief for her — not only to be back home, but to be out of the public eye as well. Even as a hospital patient, Kate couldn’t get away from the prying eyes and ears of the media. Earlier this week, an Australian radio show prank called the hospital, pretending to be Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles. They were able to obtain mundane details about her condition: she was stable, resting and getting hydrated.
Despite all the hoopla surrounding her hospital stay, Kate looked poised and in good spirits. No comment has been made about the prank call.
“The Duchess of Cambridge has been discharged from the King Edward VII Hospital and will now head to Kensington Palace for a period of rest,” says a statement from the palace. “Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank the staff at the hospital for the care and treatment the duchess has received.”
We’re happy to hear Kate is recuperating. We have our fingers crossed that the rest of pregnancy is less dramatic.
