It’s National Coffee Day 2012

Do you folks like coffee? Well, you’re in luck, because today (Saturday, September 29th, 2012) is National Coffee Day. But what does that mean, exactly?

National Coffee Day isn’t just one of those cute but useless pseudo-holidays like Chili Peppers and Figs Month, or National Voter Registration Day. It’s more than just a symbolic celebration of the magic liquid that allows us to wake up early on weekends and write blog posts while nursing a post-trivia night hangover  – in fact, on National Coffee Day, you can actually get yourself some free or discounted coffee from a variety of retailers. Here are a few of the deals you can find today:

Dunkin’ Donuts will be rolling out Pumpkin Mocha and Pumpkin White Chocolate coffee and lattes in celebration of the day. This weekend, they’re also offering a limited-time deal in which you can get their 16-ounce packaged coffee for just $5.99.

Krispy Kreme will be offering a free, no purchase necessary 12-oz coffee at participating US and Canadian stores.

Caribou Coffee is selling free and discounted cups of their Amy’s Blend coffee today.

Some McDonald’s locations will be giving away free 12-oz coffees, but you should call ahead to avoid disappointment.

Tim Horton’s is offering a coupon for a buy one get one free coffee, valid today only.

Venture forth from your homes, dear readers, and get yourself a free or cheap cup of joe – after you’ve had your first cup, of course.
