Carrie Underwood & Mike Fisher — The Only Guy She’s Never Had to Worry About

With the release of her new album Blown Away, Carrie Underwood, 29, graces the cover of Glamour‘s June 2012 issue, and talks about life and love.

She reveals that her husband of 22 months, Mike Fisher, 31, is the only guy that she’s never had to worry about. “Any guy I’ve ever dated, there would always be that doubt: ‘He didn’t answer his phone. What’s he doing? It’s late.’ I’m not the crazy-girlfriend type, but there was a little voice in the back of my head,” Underwood admits. “I don’t have to worry about Mike. I don’t think twice. He’s going out? I don’t care; it doesn’t bother me. I don’t bat an eye.”

However, there’s been plenty of songs about her wreaking havoc on the opposite sex. Read: Before He Cheats. A friend of mine heard the tune, not knowing it was Carrie, and thought, This woman is looney tunes. But alas, it was Good Girl Carrie, and a song about dealing with a cheater is relatable to anyone. “People really like when I do that. I don’t mean to. I don’t hate men that much. But it turns out so well!”

Carrie says this is what she strives for in her songwriting–relatability. “I think it would be very hard to write about my Louboutins. Do you know what I mean? My giant house, it’s not relatable. But my husband came from a small town and hardworking parents like I did, and I don’t think we’ve lost the mind-set,” Underwood tells Glamour. Carrie remains the girl next door and says that she still drives a three-year-old Ford Escape Hybrid.

She also reveals the success of her relationship to commonality and independence. Her and Mike are both in the public eye so the Canadian hockey player knew what to expect. “We’re both independent people, so we can’t have somebody around 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The drawback is that we can go weeks without seeing each other.” The arrangement seems to be working for the two lovebirds.

Carrie’s Glamour issue hits newsstands on May 8th with the country crooner looking fab in a dress by Rochas, a bustier by Cosabella, and a necklace by Camilla Dietz Bergeron.
