Adele To Release New Single for 2012

Adele reveals that she will be releasing a new single before the end of 2012. The songstress spoke with the French radio station NRJ and confirmed the rumors. Don’t get too excited though because a full-length album won’t be out for quite some time. “It won’t be for a good two years … I have to write it. It takes a while,” the 23-year-old six-time Grammy Award winner reassured.

Adele’s sophomore album 21 became the best-selling musical release of 2011, selling 20 million copies worldwide, but the soulful crooner remains modest: “I don’t think I’ll feel the pressure for the next album to be as big as the last one, because I know that’s not really possible. What happened with [21] is very rare anyway,” Adele told NRJ.

Initially, Adele had told Vogue magazine that she would be taking a four or five year hiatus from music, but quickly reneged after the Grammy’s. “I’ve a few days off now, and then it’s the Brit Awards here at home and then I’m straight into the studio. BOYYAHH! 5 years? More like 5 days!” she wrote in her blog.

It may be a few years before the release of her next full-length album, but Adele reveals that her next record will be happier. 21  was fueled by a failed relationship, but since she’s been dating non-profit director Simon Konecki, the big-voiced icon may be singing a more cheerful tune.

We’ll keep our ear to the ground for her latest tune!
