Bachelor Ratings Hit New Low

ABC’s The Bachelor hit a ratings low on Monday night, but the network still managed to come out ahead of its competition, according to preliminary numbers.

FOX and CBS both aired reruns and no one is watching NBC these days, so ABC was still able to win the night despite a very disappointing performance from The Bachelor.

Only 7.2 million people watched The Bachelor, which equates to a 2.2/5 rating. It dropped 8 percent from last week’s premiere episode.

What’s the reason for such bad numbers for this season of The Bachelor? Perhaps audiences haven’t taken to star Ben Flajnik. Or, maybe people are simply getting tired of the show’s formula and are looking for something new.

It will be very interesting to see how the numbers progress throughout the season for the show. Unless there is some serious drama ahead that will capture the interest of the viewing audience, we could be seeing the beginning of the end for one of ABC’s most successful franchises.
