Chaz Bono DWTS 2011 First Performance (Watch): Can He Win?

Chaz Bono is unarguably the most controversial star on the new season of Dancing with the Stars but his slick dance moves and likeable personality have quickly made him a favorite to win the mirror-ball trophy this year.

While some ignorant people have a problem with a transgender contestant on the show, millions of fans are thrilled that ABC is broadening the scope of competitors and introducing a more dynamic group of stars.

Last night, Chaz danced for the first time on stage in front of a live audience and he received great scores from the judges and a very positive response from the audience.

The 42-year-old son of Cher – who underwent a sex-change operation two years ago – earned  total of 17 points from the judges, 3 points higher than the last place position of 14 points by Ron Artest last night.

There’s no doubt that Chaz has the charisma and talent to go far this year but will he have the fan base he needs to get him to the finals?

Will you be voting for Chaz this season? Do you think he has what it takes to win?
