George Anthony Statement with Wife Cindy Anthony: Reaction to Verdict

George Anthony and his wife Cindy Anthony may have left the courtroom immediately after the verdict of ‘not guilty” was announced this afternoon but they have decided to release a public statement revealing their reaction to their daughter’s freedom.

“While the family may never know what happened to Caylee Marie Anthony, they now have closure for this chapter in their life,” the couple’s lawyer Mark Lippman said in the release.

“They will now begin the long process of rebuilding their lives. Despite the baseless defense chosen by Casey Anthony, the family believes that the Jury made a fair decision based on the evidence presented, the testimony presented, the scientific information presented and the rules that were given to them by the Honorable Judge Perry to guide them.”

They continue, “The family hopes that they will be given the time by the media to reflect on this verdict and decide the best way to move forward privately.”

It’s obvious that George and Cindy Anthony don’t consider today’s outcome a victory. Their daughter accused her father of sexually molesting her as a child and helping to cover up the “accidental death” of the adorable 2-year-old little girl.

It’s clear that George and Cindy believe Casey’s defense to be a lie – as do millions of people all over the world.

Regardless, Casey will walk free.

Do you feel sympathetic towards George and Cindy Anthony at this point in time?
