Candice Swanepoel Weight Controversy: FameCrawler Comments Out of Line!

Candice Swanepoel is being criticized this week after photos of her looking rather thin during a Victoria’s Secret promotional photo shoot this week surfaced online.

The blonde model was noticeably thinner than her two VS model companions, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima, but does her weight really warrant this much attention?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: sometimes it’s just as difficult for women to gain weight as it is for them to lose weight.

So when blogs like FameCrawler make comments like “eat a sandwich,” “somebody feed her” and “she’d blow away if the wind kicked up a little” it’s just as much out of line as blogs that say things like “go to the gym” and “lay off the deserts” to people who are overweight.

The difference is, sites who criticize someone for being too fat get destroyed in the media because we’re not supposed to be commenting on women’s weight issues.

So why is acceptable to criticize someone for being too small but unacceptable to criticize for someone being too big? Doesn’t really make sense if you ask me.

I’m sorry but if women’s weight issues are off-limits then it needs to go both ways.

Do you think FameCrawler was out of line with their comments? Should they have to issue and apology like Maura Kelly was forced to do after she made her comments? I think so!
