Maksim Chmerkovskiy Seeks Love on The Bachelor Ukraine
Never say never!
Though he’s previously declared he would never seek love on a dating reality TV show, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy is appearing in Ukraine’s version of ‘The Bachelor.’
Maks landed in his homeland almost immediately after last season’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ finale, to begin his quest to win the heart of one lucky lady. The 30-year old dancer has previously been linked to his ‘DWTS’ partner Erin Andrews, and fellow dance pro Karina Smirnoff.
“This is the first thing in a VERY LONG TIME that I’m doing for ME,” Maks wrote on his website [via Pop Eater]. “For the first time, I don’t really care what people think. First time that I’m not being ‘judged,’ ‘placed,’ or ‘criticized.’”
Maks’ decision to appear on ‘The Bachelor’ in Ukraine is likely, at least in part, due to his family. The reality star has admitted in interviews that since turning 30, he and his family felt it was time to finally get serious about settling down.
“There has never been a show such as this in Ukraine,” the dance pro continued, “and it makes me think that a first season would be the most ‘real’ as far as a participant’s perception of ‘what it’s all about.’ … I know it’s hard to find someone you can connect to on a project like this, but nothing is impossible. For the sake of the show I can’t reveal anything, but I must say I am very pleasantly surprised so far.”
